Terms of service
The deal, in plain language.
You license the software; your data stays yours. Here is the rest of it, without the fog.

Acceptance and the license
By installing or using MYNC you agree to these terms, made with MYNC (Toronto, Canada). We grant you a personal, non-transferable license to use the software on devices you control. We own the software; you own your data — the messages you sync, the graph MYNC builds, and everything derived from them on your machine. We claim no license over your content, because it never reaches us.
Your responsibilities
MYNC organizes communications you already have. You are responsible for having the right to process them — including any consent the law of your jurisdiction requires for the conversations and sources you connect. Keep your account credentials and device secure: because your corpus is local and encrypted, we cannot recover your data if you lose both your device and your key.
Plans and billing
Subscriptions bill monthly through Stripe. Switch plans anytime — changes are prorated. Cancel anytime, effective at the end of the billing period. Hosted plans carry visible usage caps; hitting a cap degrades you to Local functionality, free, never to a surprise charge. If a charge is wrong, email support@mync.ai and we will fix it.
Acceptable use
Don't abuse the hosted inference layer (resale, automated bulk extraction unrelated to your own corpus, attempting to access other users' data), don't attempt to circumvent usage caps, and don't use MYNC to violate someone else's rights or the terms of a connected service. BYOK usage runs under your providers' terms, on your accounts. We may suspend accounts that break this section, and will say why.
Warranties and liability
MYNC is provided as is. We build carefully and we ship guarantees as architecture, but we do not warrant the software is error-free, and AI-derived output (summaries, extracted facts, drafts) can be wrong — review it before you rely on it or send it. To the maximum extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim is capped at the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and neither of us is liable to the other for indirect or consequential damages.
Termination
You can stop anytime: cancel, uninstall, done — your local data remains yours to keep or destroy. We can terminate accounts for breach of these terms, with notice and the reason. Sections that by nature survive (ownership, liability, governing law) survive.
Governing law and changes
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and Canada; disputes go to the courts of Ontario. If we change these terms materially, we will notify you in the app before the change takes effect, and the current version always lives at this page. Questions: support@mync.ai.
